Evaluating Promotional Effectiveness in Retail Using Predictive Modelling and Counterfactual Sales Estimation
Final Year Project · Dec 2025 – Jul 2026 · Associated with Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU / APIIT). Developed a retail analytics framework that estimates no-promotion counterfactual sales to measure real promotional lift. Using AdventureWorksDW2025 data from SQL Server, built and evaluated Linear Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, and Gradient Boosting models with leakage-safe chronological validation. Gradient Boosting performed best (MAE 3,289.96, RMSE 5,080.80, R² 0.8077), and powered an interactive Power BI dashboard for promotion lift, retail trends, and business insights.
Sep 2026 – Present. Owy helps people track personal expenses and money owed to them, making shared dinners, loans, and group purchases easier to manage. Users can record debts, organise them by person or expense, and see outstanding balances in one clear dashboard—replacing scattered notes, chat messages, and memory with a friendly, reliable platform.
Developed and optimized Machine Learning models using Python to predict customer churn. Visualized insights and business impact using Power BI, enabling better customer retention strategies and targeted interventions.
Developed backend components and an AI-powered chatbot using OpenAI API, Supabase, and n8n at the UM Hackathon. Enabled automated business recommendations, improving merchant decision-making.
Developed an OLAP cube and interactive Power BI dashboard for a global bicycle manufacturer using SQL Server. Analyzed global sales trends and customer demographics to deliver actionable recommendations on regional marketing and product-class prioritization.
